After a defensive mix-up in Cotagaita AFC's zone, Saul Cordearo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Oliveiro came out of the goal and Saul Cordearo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Instituto ACC's Agustin Bastiaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nestor Oliveiro. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. Instituto ACC's Cecilio Refugio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Nestor Oliveiro but with some difficulty. Cotagaita AFC's Nestor Oliveiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Bastiaro in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 26 minutes, Agustin Bastiaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Instituto ACC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustin Bastiaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Instituto ACC's Agustin Bastiaro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nestor Oliveiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diego Hotz hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Saul Tiadoro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cotagaita AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Tiadoro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Hilario Vincent left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cotagaita AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A hard shot by Nereo Lauaxeta from long distance, 59 minutes into the match, got Delmiro Sidro's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Hilario Vincent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Instituto ACC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Saul Tiadoro scored to the left of an out of position Delmiro Sidro, making the score, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hilario Vincent in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delmiro Sidro saved Instituto ACC from getting behind. With a little luck, Instituto ACC's Delmiro Sidro got control of the ball when Hilario Vincent tried to sneak it across the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Instituto ACC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 72 minutes, Cotagaita AFC's Celso Isauro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Delmiro Sidro. Saul Cordearo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nestor Oliveiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Agustin Bastiaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th minute, Saul Cordearo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Instituto ACC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Instituto ACC's Angel Galindo got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Cotagaita AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cotagaita AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
