Miraflores's supporters rose to their feet, but Gogo Sandaili was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gavino Selmo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Gómez AFC's zone, Alejo Gaskon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Selmo came out of the goal and Alejo Gaskon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gavino Selmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Sandaili in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute Alfredo Ignatius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Vincent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Elvio Araoz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gómez AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elvio Araoz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evelio Vincent breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredo Ignatius made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Israel Eusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Selmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Gaskon in the 66th minute of play. Gustavo Isidor walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 71 minutes, Claudio Feliu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gómez AFC and the Miraflores players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Miraflores booed when Gómez AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Feliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejo Gaskon in the 77th minute of play forced Gómez AFC's goalkeeper Gavino Selmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miraflores were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Gómez AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gustavo Isidor took the corner. Miraflores's Gustavo Isidor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gavino Selmo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Roque Erauso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Elvio Araoz managed to get in a good position for a shot.
