Modesto Ignado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Karlo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Chesus in the 27th minute of play forced Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Modesto Ignado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Modesto Ignado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erubiel Emeterio in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Aurelio Chesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Ignado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
