But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iker Matxin couldn't finish the play. Jimeno Raebert kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Cirilo Obano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Modesto Ignado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Obano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Cirilo Obano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Modesto Ignado. Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cirilo Obano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Lorenzo Isadore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modesto Ignado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cirilo Obano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Argenis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benito Elazar in the 23rd minute. Modesto Ignado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedicto Jacindo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Florentino Bernabel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Ricardo Argenis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Cruz Azul Fútbol Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Federal FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cirilo Obano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's Jimeno Raebert got a free kick in the 51st minute. Cirilo Obano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Modesto Ignado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute, Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Iker Matxin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Benito Elazar fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's protests and gave Benito Elazar a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Cruz Azul Fútbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Benito Elazar. Iker Matxin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Cirilo Obano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Modesto Ignado came out and tried to block the shot, but Cirilo Obano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, Cirilo Obano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Modesto Ignado. The goal made the score 0-3. In the 89th match minute, Federal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Cidro to maneuver through the defense. Cruz Azul Fútbol Club's Modesto Ignado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cirilo Obano in the 94th minute of play. Iker Matxin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 97thth minute, Modesto Ignado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Federal FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
