Silverio Urtzi came out of the goal and Constantino Tanio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sepulturas getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Pedro Pierres hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Pavón's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Pierres came free, but Silverio Urtzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tobias Mercurio's late challenge caught a Pavón's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pavón's Silverio Urtzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Pavón from getting a goal against them. Pavón's supporters rose to their feet, but Edelmiro Blasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Berdaitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Pavón's Raimundo Panpili got a free kick in the 41st minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabio Birila was the one to do the kick off. Edelmiro Blasi struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Eriberto Berdaitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pavón. The audience was convinced that Fabio Birila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Berdaitz was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Eriberto Berdaitz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When Tobias Mercurio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 98 minutes had been played. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sepulturas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 98th minute. Penalty! In the 101st minute there was a penalty for Pavón. Zeledon Teyo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eriberto Berdaitz. 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
