Bruno Belasko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Vimaro having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Bruno Belasko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anier Vimaro. Curacó's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno Belasko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Simon Celio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Anier Vimaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Curacó's Augusto Tancredo got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Celio struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Anier Vimaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mendoza.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto Maule was the one to do the kick off. Augusto Tancredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Anier Vimaro managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Mendoza's Simon Celio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leo Confesor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Lucian in the 69th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, Claudio Bizi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mendoza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curacó the free kick. A collision led to Mendoza getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Claudio Bizi hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Mendoza defense, Augusto Tancredo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leo Confesor. The Mendoza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leo Confesor should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute Agustin Gartxot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Confesor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Curacó booed when Mendoza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Bizi didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Celio couldn't finish the play.
