After 14 minutes of play, Club América's Marcelino Guib made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonio Austin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Club América defense, Jorge Bikendi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eduardo Burni. The Club América fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduardo Burni should have stopped the shot. Marcelino Guib's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Antonio Austin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Panacán's Antonio Austin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Urbasa in the 25th minute of play. When Club América's Tiburcio Urbasa in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panacán's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 63 played minutes Panacán got a freekick which was hit by Saturnino Buinton. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafino Leoiar in the 72nd minute of play forced Club América's goalkeeper Eduardo Burni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduardo Burni was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Serafino Leoiar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 77 minute of play. Serafino Leoiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eduardo Burni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serafino Leoiar ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 84th minute Serafino Leoiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaston Etxepare charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaston Etxepare the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gaston Etxepare kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Panacán's Felix Gabirel shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 87th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Eduardo Burni but with some difficulty. Eduardo Burni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Leoiar in the 89th minute of play. Eduardo Burni made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Jorge Bikendi sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Club América booed when Panacán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Diaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Panacán supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Panacán would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
