The supporters of Bayauca booed when Mechita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonatan Ursino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hilario Garikoitz in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cornelio Ferrer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Julio Rafel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cornelio Ferrer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Oihenarte in the 15th minute of play forced Mechita's goalkeeper Leonides Rolado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Rafel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Ferrer having to interfere. Hilario Garikoitz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Cornelio Ferrer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bayauca's Justino Abastas got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hilario Garikoitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Rafel in the 32nd minute of play forced Bayauca's goalkeeper Cornelio Ferrer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremias Gipuzkoa kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 46 minutes, Hilario Garikoitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mechita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hilario Garikoitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Bayauca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Chuse to maneuver through the defense. 50 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bayauca's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jeremias Gipuzkoa was slow to take the kick. During this time Mechita's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jeremias Gipuzkoa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bayauca's Cornelio Ferrer did a great save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julio Rafel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Julio Rafel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cornelio Ferrer was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Cornelio Ferrer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julio Rafel's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. If Julio Rafel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Bayauca's zone, Hilario Garikoitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Ferrer came out of the goal and Hilario Garikoitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute of the match, Justino Abastas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Leonides Rolado was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Julio Rafel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Cornelio Ferrer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hilario Garikoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Ferrer having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Hilario Garikoitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mechita fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When the referee ended the match the Mechita players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
