Ovidio Gregory showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atilano Paul, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Ariel FC's Celso Bautista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ovidio Gregory made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedrão Arruda during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Chaviyú FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Arruda to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ariel FC's zone, Andres Maiorga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascual Paul came out of the goal and Andres Maiorga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Vilmar Noya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andres Maiorga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 61 minutes, Leo Aballe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ariel FC and the Chaviyú FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Chaviyú FC. Erik Isaksson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pascual Paul. 3-1. In the 64th minute, Chaviyú FC's Erik Isaksson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Pascual Paul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Isaksson in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Celedonio Luken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chaviyú FC's Erik Isaksson got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vilmar Noya in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pascual Paul, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ismael Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Vilmar Noya struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Pascual Paul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chaviyú FC.
