After having played for 3 minutes, Casimiro Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lobos BUAP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casimiro Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Zapla AFC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Bernardo Venerando hit a great ball. Basilio Ortzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Genaro Gumaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Genaro Gumaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Ortzi in the 7th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casimiro Quintan during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Lobos BUAP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Quintan to maneuver through the defense. After 10 played minutes, Zapla AFC's Enrique Saturnin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernardino Argina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zapla AFC reached it. 12 minutes into the match, Lobos BUAP's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Mon came free, but Bernardino Argina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Zapla AFC's goalkeeper Genaro Gumaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedicto Hotz. Uriel Mon scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardino Argina, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zapla AFC's Isaias Bartoleme got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uriel Mon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genaro Gumaro made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Benedicto Hotz sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the match, Zapla AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Basilio Ortzi came free, but Genaro Gumaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardino Argina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Mon, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 31st minute, Generoso Jerico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Saturnin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bernardino Argina. Lobos BUAP's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 34th minute, Benedicto Hotz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Basilio Ortzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Gumaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaias Bartoleme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Benedicto Hotz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Lobos BUAP's zone, Esteban Chayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardino Argina came out of the goal and Esteban Chayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Basilio Ortzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Gumaro was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. A collision led to Lobos BUAP getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Luciano Sarracino hit a great ball. Bernardino Argina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Mon in the 64th minute of the match. Isaias Bartoleme who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Bernardino Argina when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Ceferino Lonzo fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobos BUAP's protests and gave Ceferino Lonzo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Lobos BUAP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceferino Lonzo to maneuver through the defense. When Esteban Chayo fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zapla AFC's protests and gave Esteban Chayo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Zapla AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Esteban Chayo hit a great ball. Bernardino Argina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Mon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the game, Luciano Sarracino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lobos BUAP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zapla AFC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Mon in the 88th minute of play forced Lobos BUAP's goalkeeper Bernardino Argina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uriel Mon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Lobos BUAP supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Zapla AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Zapla AFC.
