When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ceferino Paz sped through Agronomía AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nunez Berasko. Fernan Francho scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nunez Berasko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Presebal got free with Emanuel Nuxila in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Ceferino Paz came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the CHIVAS fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Paz in the 38th minute of play forced Agronomía AFC's goalkeeper Nunez Berasko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, one of Agronomía AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Agronomía AFC. In the 41st minute there was a penalty for CHIVAS. Uriel Artaldo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nunez Berasko. 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ceferino Paz in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nunez Berasko saved Agronomía AFC from getting behind. If Ceferino Paz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceferino Paz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 minutes, Artemio Florin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Agronomía AFC and the CHIVAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. CHIVAS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
