Alfonso Ekain made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Ruperto Fonda sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciro Sendoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tampico-Madero F.C's Casimiro Cordarrel got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Casimiro Cordarrel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruperto Fonda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Ekain having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Justo Mikelar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Alfonso Ekain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ciro Sendoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Tampico-Madero F.C had won after a very even match.
