The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Silverio Ulizes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santo Pancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silverio Ulizes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Pancho in the 24th minute of the match. Silverio Ulizes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Harkaitz in the 25th minute of play. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Teofilo Caton sped through Janimas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rodolfo Barto. Teofilo Caton took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Barto. Rodolfo Barto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teofilo Caton got free with Rodolfo Barto in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santo Pancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silverio Ulizes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santo Pancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 38th match minute, Janimas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Abancens to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Janimas's zone, Teofilo Caton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Barto came out of the goal and Teofilo Caton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alonzo Harkaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santo Pancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Santo Pancho came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Janimas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santo Pancho couldn't finish the play. Tacaglé's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
