The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Astor Dalmau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciro Txanton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Dalmau in the 14th minute of the match. Isaias Tavio's late challenge caught a Calingasta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. If Ladislao Sayvion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Ladislao Sayvion took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Isaias Barea to make any attempt to save it. 48 minutes into the match, Calingasta's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Sayvion came free, but Isaias Barea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Sayvion in the 72nd minute of play forced Calingasta's goalkeeper Isaias Barea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciro Txanton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Laurendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Gaviotas AFC's zone, Astor Dalmau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Txanton came out of the goal and Astor Dalmau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Astor Dalmau got free with Ciro Txanton in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ladislao Sayvion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaias Barea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Gogo Canor charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gogo Canor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Calingasta's Gogo Canor got a free kick in the 88th minute. Ladislao Sayvion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaias Barea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
