Anastasio Johans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaudencio Weather's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Baleren in the 16th minute of play forced Villanueva AFC's goalkeeper Eulalio Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venancio FC's Laureano Matia got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaudencio Weather was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Villanueva AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Laureano Matia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eulalio Gartzea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laureano Matia, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Laureano Matia might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eulalio Gartzea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laureano Matia ran back to his position shaking his head. Villanueva AFC's Eulalio Gartzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Baleren in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Villanueva AFC's goalkeeper Eulalio Gartzea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aurelio Hechter hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Baleren to make the kick off. Laureano Matia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Eulalio Gartzea made a huge save.
