The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Candido Valiente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabricio Asur having to make a save. Gaspar Casomiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Oriol in the 7th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Melquiades Oriol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vieytes AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Melquiades Oriol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Casomiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute, Zacarias Beltza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Vinicio Celio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaspar Casomiro skillfully saved the ball. Fabricio Asur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Oskarbi in the 21st minute of play. Emiliano Cebrian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Javier Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Fabricio Asur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Emiliano Cebrian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Oriol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 played minutes Vieytes AFC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Oriol. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matansilla FC's goalkeeper Gaspar Casomiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 39 minutes, Candido Valiente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matansilla FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Valiente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Javier Oskarbi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabricio Asur came out and tried to block the shot, but Javier Oskarbi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 40th minute. Nestor Tallia hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Oskarbi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabricio Asur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Oskarbi in the 51st minute of play. When Candido Valiente came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Matansilla FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candido Valiente couldn't finish the play. When Matansilla FC's Javier Oskarbi in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 67th minute, Vieytes AFC's Jacobo Terciero seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacobo Terciero the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vieytes AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacobo Terciero had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 67th minute, one of Vieytes AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vieytes AFC. Gaspar Casomiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th match minute, Vieytes AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Cordera to maneuver through the defense. Cecilio Maraman's late challenge caught a Matansilla FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cecilio Maraman helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vieytes AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! Fabricio Asur had in the 81stth minute some difficulties stopping Cosme Ferrer's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Javier Oskarbi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Matansilla FC's Javier Oskarbi in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 94th minute, Javier Oskarbi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
