The supporters of Recreo AFC booed when Guernica AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evelio Feliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Recreo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Galindo came free, but Bruno Sandalio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes, Genaro Bastiaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guernica AFC and the Recreo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guernica AFC's Pastor Dantel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Bieito in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, one of Guernica AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Recreo AFC a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. Bruno Sandalio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romeo Garaile's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Pacifico during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Recreo AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Patricio Pacifico hit a great ball. Bruno Sandalio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquilino Galindo in the 40th minute of play. Joaquin Bieito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Pastor Dantel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Guernica AFC's goalkeeper Pastor Dantel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anier Silvino. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Recreo AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Dolfos in the 53rd minute. It was a well-played corner which Inocencio Madaleno managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Recreo AFC's Joaquin Bieito got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 58 minutes, Evelio Feliu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guernica AFC and the Recreo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
