In the 14th minute of the match Leonides Gartzi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guaberto Ramos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gaston Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Frantzes kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Cañete's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Lauro came free, but Guaberto Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Meendez scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guaberto Ramos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Victoriano Pepillo charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victoriano Pepillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Victoriano Pepillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaston Lauro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Ramos having to interfere. Zeledon Meendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Cienaguita FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Gaston Lauro hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donato Odilon during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Cañete:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cienaguita FC:s goal. The supporters of Cañete booed when Cienaguita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Guillem didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaston Lauro struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Guaberto Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cienaguita FC. After 50 played minutes Cañete got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Lawrence. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
