Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florencio Valentine in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Louis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcelo Louis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zuberbühler's goalkeeper Israel Gustau, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo Louis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Matheu's Pastor Manny in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zuberbühler's goalie prevented a goal. Zuberbühler's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pastor Manny 40 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Marcelo Louis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Azeari, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Israel Gustau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Manny in the 52nd minute of the match. When Alonzo Eriz came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Matheu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alonzo Eriz couldn't finish the play. Israel Gustau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tobias Francho's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Pastor Manny took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Israel Gustau. Israel Gustau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When Zuberbühler's Florencio Valentine in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Matheu's goalie prevented a goal. Florencio Valentine struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Marcelo Louis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zuberbühler. When Tobias Francho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Matheu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tobias Francho couldn't finish the play. Angelo Azeari came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcelo Louis could save by the left post. In the 93rd minute Florencio Valentine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Louis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Matheu's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Valentine came free, but Marcelo Louis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matheu's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
