Linch's Lucio Huly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Servando in the 4th minute of play. If Julian Tino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Huly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Tino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Candelaria's Julian Tino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucio Huly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria's zone, Eloy Abar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Colon came out of the goal and Eloy Abar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Julian Tino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. German Servando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Lucio Huly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucio Huly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Tino's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After 32 minutes, German Servando made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Linch's Lucio Huly tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Candelaria's Higinio Colon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Candelaria from getting a goal against them. Sergio Nerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dionisio Cefero kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Candelaria's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sergio Nerio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. German Servando was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Julian Tino made a precise shot to the right of Lucio Huly. Linch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Sergio Nerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Abar in the 66th minute of play forced Candelaria's goalkeeper Higinio Colon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Linch's Eloy Abar got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Candelaria's Higinio Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Abar in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute of the match Amador Elia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucio Huly skillfully saved the ball. Julian Tino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th match minute, Linch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anier Turi to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Nerio in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Higinio Colon saved Candelaria from getting behind. After 85 played minutes, Linch's Higinio Madaleno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Higinio Colon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Linch reached it. In the 86th minute, Dionisio Cefero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eloy Abar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Candelaria's Pablo Savier got a free kick in the 94th minute. Eloy Abar struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Higinio Colon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linch. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Candelaria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
