In a very dangerous position, a player in Panquehá fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Filiberto Maties hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Panquehá's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Gitano came free, but Luciano Arnalt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Belo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeremias Urki in the 14th minute. Luciano Arnalt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Gitano in the 15th minute of play. Zeledon Frisco charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeledon Frisco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Napenay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Frisco to maneuver through the defense. Napenay's Tomás Belo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Napenay from getting a goal against them. Delmar Liberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Luciano Arnalt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Napenay defense, Laureano Veremundo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Belo. The Napenay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Belo should have stopped the shot. Valentin Gitano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Panquehá's zone, Valentin Gitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Arnalt came out of the goal and Valentin Gitano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
In the 53rd match minute, Panquehá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Pello to maneuver through the defense. Napenay's Abelardo Enol got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laureano Veremundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Tomás Belo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abelardo Enol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laureano Veremundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Belo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Laureano Veremundo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panquehá's supporters rose to their feet, but Laureano Veremundo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Belo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd match minute, Napenay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Frisco to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Panquehá's Laureano Veremundo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Belo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomás Belo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Veremundo in the 75th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Valentin Gitano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luciano Arnalt. That made the score 1-1 in the 78 minute of play. Panquehá's Laureano Veremundo got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luciano Arnalt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Enol in the 86th minute. When Abelardo Enol came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Napenay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Enol couldn't finish the play. The Napenay players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Panquehá from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
