Aureliano Jenaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Rito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristobal Mero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carolo Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Popoy fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Ushuaia. Popoy's Aureliano Jenaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Rito in the 25th minute of play. Horacio Cordearo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosendo Efren, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Cristobal Mero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aureliano Jenaro. Popoy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristobal Mero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When Carolo Rito came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Ushuaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carolo Rito couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Cristobal Mero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carolo Rito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Guaberto Buinton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Popoy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ushuaia the free kick.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Domingos Benvide was the one to do the kick off. Carolo Rito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carolo Rito got free with Aureliano Jenaro in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Domingos Benvide had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horacio Cordearo. Ushuaia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Domingos Benvide was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Benvide in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horacio Cordearo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rosendo Efren in the 68th minute of play forced Ushuaia's goalkeeper Horacio Cordearo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes in the game, Cristobal Mero fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aureliano Jenaro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Benvide in the 73rd minute of play forced Ushuaia's goalkeeper Horacio Cordearo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Candido Afonso's late challenge caught a Popoy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Candido Afonso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Candido Afonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aureliano Jenaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristobal Mero, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With a little luck, Popoy's Aureliano Jenaro got control of the ball when Carolo Rito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Popoy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Sugoi to maneuver through the defense. Ushuaia's Luisito Felipo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Aureliano Jenaro but with some difficulty. When the match was over Ushuaia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Popoy throughout the match.
