Itatí's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alfonso the free kick. The supporters of Alfonso booed when Itatí was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Lorien didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nicanor Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Louis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Louis in the 29th minute of play forced Alfonso's goalkeeper Arturo Porfiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genaro Claris scored 1-2 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ladislao Vela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Itatí's Luciano Enol got a free kick in the 58th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Genaro Claris kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ladislao Vela. That made the score 1-3 in the 60 minute of play. Genaro Claris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ladislao Vela having to interfere. Genaro Claris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itatí's Ladislao Vela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Claris in the 71st minute of play. Leopoldo Flor hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Isidoro Lorien hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Flor's late challenge caught a Alfonso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leopoldo Flor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th minute, Leopoldo Flor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nemesio Huly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ladislao Vela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ladislao Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Claris, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Nemesio Huly could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ladislao Vela made a huge save. When Aquilino Palos came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Itatí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquilino Palos couldn't finish the play. Laureano Clis's late challenge caught a Itatí's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laureano Clis helped the player get up and apologised. Laureano Clis hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute of the match, Genaro Claris tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ladislao Vela saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Itatí's zone, Nemesio Huly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ladislao Vela came out of the goal and Nemesio Huly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Itatí fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Alfonso were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
