After a defensive mix-up in Paraná AFC's zone, Aquilino Roderigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Aritza came out of the goal and Aquilino Roderigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Luis Rius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Cordera was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Leopoldo Hustaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Anselmo Cordera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Hustaz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Anselmo Cordera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraná AFC's goalkeeper Fabio Aritza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Hustaz got free with Anselmo Cordera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Rius to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Luis Rius ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anselmo Cordera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Leopoldo Hustaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraná AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Hustaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Cordera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilfredo Isadore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godofredo Frascuelo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A collision led to Paraná AFC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Godofredo Frascuelo hit a great ball. In the 64th minute of the match Silvano Silvino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Aritza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wilfredo Isadore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Aquilino Roderigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Wilfredo Isadore could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Fabio Aritza however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Wilfredo Isadore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elortondo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfredo Isadore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Aritza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Rius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Rius might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Cordera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Rius ran back to his position shaking his head. If Luis Rius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilfredo Isadore struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Fabio Aritza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elortondo AFC. Elortondo AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
