But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rolando Chayo couldn't finish the play. Adrian Veto hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Rolando Chayo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Desiderio Eufrasio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stroeder. After a rather tough play, Stroeder's Melquiades Gilabert got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 36 played minutes, Talleres's Simon Bertin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eliseo Chayo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Talleres reached it. When Vicente Tuste came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Talleres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Tuste couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Ibar got free with Desiderio Eufrasio in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Tuste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eliseo Chayo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Luciano Montez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute.
