In the 19th minute Inocencio Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Ospin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Salto FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Tomas Laurin hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, Tuyubil AFC's Jimeno Itzaina broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Eustacio Araoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salto FC's goalkeeper Bernabe Urre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jimeno Itzaina hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 61 played minutes, Salto FC's Ildefonso Cordero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lázaro Ospin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salto FC reached it. Tuyubil AFC were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Salto FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jimeno Itzaina took the corner. One of Salto FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tuyubil AFC:s goal. Eustacio Araoz ran back to his position shaking his head. After 97 played minutes Tuyubil AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Bizen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Duarte in the 99th minute of play forced Tuyubil AFC's goalkeeper Lázaro Ospin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tuyubil AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
