The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eustacio Araoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Americo Tipi made a huge save. Benito Iliana charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benito Iliana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Salto FC got a freekick which was hit by Benito Iliana. When Osvaldo Garin came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Iraizoz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Garin couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 9 in the game by Inocencio Duarte from a close distance when the talented Americo Tipi managed to make a qualified save. Iraizoz's players were relieved. In the 10th match minute, Iraizoz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonides Natanael to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Salto FC's Americo Tipi threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Inocencio Duarte, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 13th minute, Eustacio Araoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Americo Tipi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustacio Araoz in the 17th minute. When Iraizoz's Osvaldo Garin in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Salto FC's goalie prevented a goal. The referee gave Benito Iliana a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 27 played minutes Salto FC got a freekick which was hit by Benito Iliana. Eustacio Araoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriana Isusko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernabe Urre having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Iraizoz got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Natanael. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adriana Isusko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Americo Tipi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceferino Katia in the 52nd minute of play. In the 61st minute, Eustacio Araoz made a precise shot to the right of Americo Tipi. Iraizoz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Virgilio Federigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustacio Araoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Iraizoz's goal looked a bit too open when Inocencio Duarte came free, but Americo Tipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adriana Isusko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Bernabe Urre made a huge save. If Eustacio Araoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iraizoz's Adriana Isusko got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
