Pedernal AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mburucuyá the free kick. 23 minutes into the match, Mburucuyá's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Urbasa came free, but Ovidio Arotza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gervasio Aurre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mburucuyá's Ovidio Arotza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Mburucuyá from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Augusto Abeitia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Braulio Domenec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Abeitia struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Braulio Domenec didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mburucuyá. Cleto Lleir charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cleto Lleir the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mburucuyá fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Saverio Abalos shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The supporters of Pedernal AFC booed when Mburucuyá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Mancio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Abeitia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Braulio Domenec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Cleto Lleir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 96th minute, when Pedernal AFC's Saverio Abalos after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Ovidio Arotza in Mburucuyá's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Marco Urbasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ovidio Arotza having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mburucuyá fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pedernal AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
