Orlando Viator might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amado Tello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orlando Viator ran back to his position shaking his head. After 26 minutes, Humberto Reyes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aminga and the Higuera players grew even worse after the yellow card. Humberto Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Orlando Viator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Tello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Higuera's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Honesto came free, but Geronimo Mergildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aquilino Honesto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
