The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Filiberto Merexildo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filiberto Merexildo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aurelio Cordeara hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filiberto Merexildo made a kick off. Ivan Iaki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Su went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 62nd match minute, Pila AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Licerio to maneuver through the defense. Adrian Espiridion charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pila AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Merexildo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Pila AFC's Filiberto Merexildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Iaki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Pila AFC booed when Olascoaga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Chinto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
