After a defensive mix-up in Famaillá's zone, Rene Kaxen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Ostots came out of the goal and Rene Kaxen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedernal's Amado Playo managed to work through Famaillá's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Amado Playo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Amado Playo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedernal's Amado Playo got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diego Janpier might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carolo Berdaitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Janpier ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th match minute, Famaillá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Hodei to maneuver through the defense. Amado Playo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Virgilio Ostots came out and tried to block the shot, but Amado Playo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 31st minute. Moises Raymond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Raymond to strike the kick off in the second half. Diego Janpier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Carolo Berdaitz made a huge save. After 62 minutes, Evaristo Hodei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Famaillá and the Pedernal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th minute, Amado Playo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Diego Janpier came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Famaillá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Janpier couldn't finish the play.
