Arroyito's supporters rose to their feet, but Elvio Hitzeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Omar Cibran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 11 played minutes Arroyito got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Dalmau. In the 13th minute, Jose Naldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huasán fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Tiburcio Esquipula was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huasán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arroyito the free kick. After 19 played minutes Huasán got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Esquipula. Serafin Dolfos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute of the match, Elvio Hitzeder got a very nice opportunity to score, but Omar Cibran was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Serafin Dolfos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 minutes of play, Huasán's Jose Naldo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualterio Cai was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Erasmo Feo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes in the game Carlos Bernard after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Omar Cibran. A very good opportunity. In the 37th minute Jose Naldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualterio Cai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Serafin Dolfos had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 39 minutes into the game, Erasmo Feo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huasán's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arroyito the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Huasán:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Arroyito:s goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Huasán's goalkeeper Omar Cibran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elvio Hitzeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Cibran having to interfere. After the first half Huasán were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Anier Goi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Omar Cibran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elvio Hitzeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Cibran having to interfere. In the 66th minute Elvio Hitzeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Cibran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Elvio Hitzeder came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Arroyito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elvio Hitzeder couldn't finish the play. Elvio Hitzeder took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Omar Cibran. Omar Cibran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Nicanor Honrio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gualterio Cai made a huge save. In the 86th minute, Genaro Enmanuel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Huasán eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
