Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Buchanan's Zeledon Tajo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Zeledon Tajo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buchanan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Tajo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7thth minute of the game Arnulfo Rexino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buchanan's Luciano Peruanton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ulises Sotil made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Candido Manilan sent off a good shot on target. Arnulfo Rexino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Luciano Peruanton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Ascencio charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Ascencio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anselmo Ascencio kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelino Telmo during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ulises Sotil made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Candido Manilan sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd minute Zeledon Tajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Sotil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Rexino in the 34th minute of play forced Buchanan's goalkeeper Luciano Peruanton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Desiderio Odon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luciano Peruanton was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. When Desiderio Odon came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Millán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Desiderio Odon couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnulfo Rexino was the one to do the kick off. In the 64th minute, Candido Manilan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Paulino Mendebal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buchanan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Millán the free kick. Lucio Harri charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucio Harri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 67 played minutes Millán got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Harri. When Candido Manilan came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Buchanan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candido Manilan couldn't finish the play. Millán's Desiderio Odon got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute Candido Manilan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Sotil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Candido Manilan came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Buchanan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candido Manilan couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute Cirilo Ramond suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 84 minutes of play Buchanan's Paulino Mendebal was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 85 played minutes Buchanan got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Mendebal. When Marcelino Telmo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. The supporters of Buchanan booed when Millán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Telmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Tajo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Sotil having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match Maximiliano Joseph shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ulises Sotil showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lucio Harri hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Buchanan's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
