After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Ulises Tuste managed to get in a good position for a shot. Franklin's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulises Tuste was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Mikelar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 25 minutes, Alfonso Carlomagno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Progreso and the Franklin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Alfonso Carlomagno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Franklin defense, Donato Macias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eulalio Brun. The Franklin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eulalio Brun should have stopped the shot. In the 34th minute, Donato Macias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eulalio Brun was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 39th minute Albano Jon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eulalio Brun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Tuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Mikelar having to interfere. Iker Hibai took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Augusto Mikelar. Augusto Mikelar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Augusto Mikelar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marciano Breogan, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Franklin's goalkeeper Eulalio Brun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eulalio Brun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Jon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eulalio Brun came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Progreso's Albano Jon. But to his dismay, Albano Jon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Donato Macias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Eulalio Brun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Albano Jon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Mikelar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Breogan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulises Tuste sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Orlandus hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match Lorenzo Izotz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eulalio Brun showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Americo Cheche hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Progreso defense, Ulises Tuste kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augusto Mikelar. The Progreso fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Mikelar should have stopped the shot.
