Israel Transito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Marcones in the 10th minute of play. Israel Transito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Marcones, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The referee showed Nemesio Suero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Salto's Nemesio Suero got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Erasmo Iban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Iban stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erasmo Iban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorato Hustaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Katia having to interfere. The referee gave Salto a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hipolito Domeka, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Coitaco's Israel Transito. 1-0. After 64 minutes, Honorato Hustaz made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Salto's Joel Katia tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 68th match minute, Salto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorio Ranolfo to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, Erasmo Iban was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coitaco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salto the free kick. After 70 played minutes Coitaco got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Iban. After some careless play in the Salto defense, Honorato Hustaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Katia. The Salto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Katia should have stopped the shot. If Erasmo Iban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Israel Transito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Demesio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Anselmo Marcones got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Coitaco's zone, Gervasio Demesio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Israel Transito came out of the goal and Gervasio Demesio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Salto fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Coitaco were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
