Coliqueo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Nardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hilario Isias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 20 minutes, Alfonso Gorri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barracon AFC and the Coliqueo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Barracon AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Gorri to maneuver through the defense. Coliqueo AFC's Zeledon Nardo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute Rodolfo Edorta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Koldobika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Constantino Jacob to strike the kick off in the second half.
