Nicolas Nevada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jimeno Montay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Salto AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Llin came free, but Jimeno Montay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Salto AFC's zone, Nicolas Nevada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimeno Montay came out of the goal and Nicolas Nevada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 12 minutes into the match, Potrerillos AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Ospin came free, but Everardo Orlo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Julian Ospin made a precise shot to the right of Everardo Orlo. Potrerillos AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Fidel Cordairo charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fidel Cordairo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Salto AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 21 minutes, Potrerillos AFC's Francisco Bernebe got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jimeno Montay. After 23 played minutes Potrerillos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Hats. When Marcelino Iliana fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salto AFC's protests and gave Marcelino Iliana a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Potrerillos AFC booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Iliana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Nevada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimeno Montay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Potrerillos AFC's Nicolas Nevada sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jimeno Montay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute Jacinto Llin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Montay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Everardo Orlo had great luck who in the 55thth minute grab hold of the ball when Emiliano Vincente from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Emiliano Vincente might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Orlo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Vincente ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicolas Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jacinto Llin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Potrerillos AFC's zone, Julian Ospin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Orlo came out of the goal and Julian Ospin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jimeno Montay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Llin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nicolas Nevada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolas Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Salto AFC defense, Jacinto Llin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimeno Montay. The Salto AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimeno Montay should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Hats in the 95th minute of play forced Salto AFC's goalkeeper Jimeno Montay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Potrerillos AFC booed when Salto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Oro didn't get a good kick on the ball.
