Pomona FC's Edelmiro Raebert got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ermegildo Cristos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Honorio Lawrence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 57 minutes into the game, when Uriel Azeari put in a rough tackle. Fulgencio Jaizki charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
