That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. If Jairo Danel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Telo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolas Matro in the 13th minute. After 16 played minutes Hualjaina FC got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Resto. Arnaldo Chinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Lawrence having to interfere. Zeledon Hunfredo's late challenge caught a Hualjaina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeledon Hunfredo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Julian Teofilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnaldo Chinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Lawrence having to interfere. Tomas Telo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Eron in the 33rd minute of play. Cosme Resto hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Arnaldo Chinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Nicolas Matro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute Nicolas Matro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Telo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Constantino Dino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Santos Ignazio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnaldo Chinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Lawrence having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hualjaina FC's zone, Arnaldo Chinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorio Lawrence came out of the goal and Arnaldo Chinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Chinto got free with Honorio Lawrence in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes, Constantino Dino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hualjaina FC and the Carboni players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Danel in the 84th minute of play forced Hualjaina FC's goalkeeper Honorio Lawrence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carboni's Arnaldo Chinto got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hualjaina FC's goalkeeper Honorio Lawrence, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilberto Eron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Tomas Telo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
