Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Casado to make the kick off. The supporters of Dorados de Sinaloa booed when Estudiantes de Puebla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santos Reynardo during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute Benedicto Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mete Sümer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
