Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edwin Lima got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute, Avilio Rivera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudy Barreto got free with Carlos Pérez in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edwin Lima in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Pérez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Birkdale booed when St Agnes City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. During this time Birkdale's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Birkdale's Daniel Tobar to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Pérez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Edwin Lima kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Pérez. That made the score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Guillermo Bran made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Fuentes in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th match minute, Birkdale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Fuentes to maneuver through the defense. Gilberto Ayala stood somewhat misplaced when Guillermo Bran came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 58 minute. Carlos Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute.
