In the 11th minute Christian Guevara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ventura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Great Bookham's goalkeeper Marcos Ventura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benji Molina. Benji Molina struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Marcos Ventura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipswich. When Christian Guevara came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ipswich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Guevara couldn't finish the play. After 23 played minutes Great Bookham got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Mendoza. When Ernesto Mendoza was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 26 minutes had been played. In the 30th of the match, Christian Guevara tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Marcos Ventura got in the way and made a wonderful save. The crowd rose to their feet as Christian Guevara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Ventura. That made the score 1-0 in the 32 minute of play. Christian Guevara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Ventura having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Alvarenga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcos Ventura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Guevara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Alvarenga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Salvador Díaz made a huge save. After 60 played minutes Ipswich got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Mendoza. If Marcelo Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Alvarenga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Salvador Díaz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Christian Guevara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Guevara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Marcos Ventura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Guevara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Great Bookham's Marcos Ventura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benji Molina in the 72nd minute of play.
