Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Congleton FC's Avilio Salamanca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Westbourne's Eraldo Mayen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avilio Salamanca in the 3rd minute of play. Roberto Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Mendez having to interfere. Eliseo Mendez came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Westbourne's Augusto Arellano. But to his dismay, Augusto Arellano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 12th minute, Lorenzo Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Carmelo Ulloa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Augusto Arellano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliseo Mendez. That made the score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. When Franklin Bustamante fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Congleton FC's protests and gave Franklin Bustamante a yellow card for diving instead. Franklin Bustamante hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Congleton FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Mendez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carmelo Ulloa. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Augusto Arellano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westbourne's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Arellano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseo Mendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseo Mendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Arellano, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Eliseo Mendez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roberto Barreto went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Congleton FC booed when Westbourne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolás Menjivar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Congleton FC's Franklin Bustamante broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 39 minutes, Roberto Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westbourne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Barreto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eraldo Mayen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avilio Salamanca in the 42nd minute of play. If Augusto Arellano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
In the 59th minute, Avilio Salamanca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Arellano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Eliseo Mendez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliseo Mendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Arellano, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Eliseo Mendez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Arellano's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute Roberto Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Westbourne's Augusto Arellano in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Congleton FC's goalie prevented a goal. Augusto Arellano struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Eliseo Mendez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westbourne. Augusto Arellano took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseo Mendez. Eliseo Mendez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 86th minute, one of Westbourne:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Westbourne. When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Congleton FC's Franklin Bustamante got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eraldo Mayen. In the 91st minute Augusto Arellano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Congleton FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Westbourne.
