A collision led to Leominster getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Raúl Cortez hit a great ball. The supporters of Newcastle-under-Lyme booed when Leominster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Peña didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 6 played minutes, Newcastle-under-Lyme's Edgar Escalante shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Felipe Aguilar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newcastle-under-Lyme reached it. When Rene Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Leominster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Pinho couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alonso Corpeño in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felipe Aguilar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Leominster's zone, Orlando Victorino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Aguilar came out of the goal and Orlando Victorino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alonso Corpeño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Aguilar having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Leominster:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Newcastle-under-Lyme:s goal. Enrique Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enrique Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 25 minutes into the game, one of Leominster:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Alonso Corpeño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Leominster's Christian Peña got a free kick in the 38th minute. If Orlando Victorino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alonso Corpeño was the one to do the kick off. Rene Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Hidalgo having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Leominster was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Cortez to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonso Corpeño in the 77th minute of play forced Leominster's goalkeeper Felipe Aguilar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Alonso Corpeño ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felipe Aguilar was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Newcastle-under-Lyme's David Palencia got a free kick in the 79th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Rene Pinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hugo Hidalgo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leominster's Rene Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Leominster's zone, Orlando Victorino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Aguilar came out of the goal and Orlando Victorino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Newcastle-under-Lyme were the better team. Newcastle-under-Lyme's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
