The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rene Collado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Santamaria having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Haywards Heath's Rene Collado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Galeas couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute, Marcos Palencia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Ash Green United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Marcos Palencia hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Antonio Galeas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Antonio Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Gallardo in the 30th minute of play forced New Ash Green United's goalkeeper David Santamaria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Palencia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Mora having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Palencia in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antonio Mora saved Haywards Heath from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcos Palencia made a kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Christian Gallardo sped through New Ash Green United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of David Santamaria. 55 minutes into the match, Haywards Heath's goalkeeper Antonio Mora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Galeas. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Haywards Heath's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rolando Ramos was slow to take the kick. During this time New Ash Green United's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on New Ash Green United's corner Rolando Ramos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antonio Mora quite easily take care of the ball. David Santamaria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Gallardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of New Ash Green United booed when Haywards Heath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Vasquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonio Galeas struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Antonio Mora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Ash Green United. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Gallardo during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
