Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Guillermo Navas got the match started through his kick off. If Primitivo Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronald Bermudez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Primitivo Amaya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Batley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Primitivo Amaya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Hidalgo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Jorge Umaña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillermo Navas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Christian Hidalgo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Navas in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Umaña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute, Rudy Pineda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Guillermo Navas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ronald Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Hidalgo made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Erick Messias sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ronald Bermudez made the kick off in the second half. After 61 played minutes Batley got a freekick which was hit by Waldir Baptista. Christian Hidalgo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erick Messias in the 62nd minute of the match. Batley's Christian Hidalgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Bermudez in the 64th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Welwyn Garden City FC's zone, Primitivo Amaya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Umaña came out of the goal and Primitivo Amaya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Primitivo Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 77th minute Ronald Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Hidalgo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Welwyn Garden City FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Primitivo Amaya 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. 89 minutes into the match, Welwyn Garden City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Navas came free, but Jorge Umaña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Guillermo Navas came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Batley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillermo Navas couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Batley had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
