Match Report

Alveley
Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
Alveley's Carlos Fernandez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Abraham Prado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saul Pimentel was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 4 minutes into the match, Alveley's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Ortiz came free, but Saul Pimentel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Saul Pimentel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josue Ocampo charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josue Ocampo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Alveley's Josue Ocampo got a free kick in the 12th minute. When Selvin Orozco fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alveley's protests and gave Selvin Orozco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Alveley getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Selvin Orozco hit a great ball. Abraham Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Pimentel having to interfere. Dennys Mora hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. With his leg Felipe Bermudez managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Alveley's Paolo Serrano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Felipe Bermudez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alveley's Carlos Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alveley's Saul Pimentel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Ortiz in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Brixton City's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernandez came free, but Felipe Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saul Pimentel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Ortiz in the 37th minute of the match. Brixton City were furious when Dennys Mora was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Brixton City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alveley:s goal. The goalkeeper, Felipe Bermudez, was totally fooled by Alveley's Henry Murgas, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abraham Prado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Henry Murgas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alveley's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Murgas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Bermudez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felipe Bermudez came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Alveley's Josue Ocampo. But to his dismay, Josue Ocampo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Felipe Bermudez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Serrano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Brixton City's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernandez came free, but Felipe Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 minutes, Gabriel Guardado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alveley and the Brixton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Alveley's Gabriel Guardado got a free kick in the 73rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Abraham Prado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernandez in the 78th minute of play forced Brixton City's goalkeeper Felipe Bermudez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Brixton City's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernandez came free, but Felipe Bermudez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saul Pimentel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Prado in the 82nd minute. Abraham Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Pimentel having to interfere. During the 90th minute of the match Josue Ocampo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Josue Ocampo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brixton City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Henry Murgas was slow to take the kick. During this time Alveley's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Alveley's Selvin Orozco getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Alveley's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
