Jonathan Galdamez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thierry Baecke in the 8th minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Woodley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Mejia to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Thierry Baecke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Galdamez was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. With a left leg Jonathan Galdamez saved Woodley from getting behind. If Fabio Magaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Galdamez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thierry Baecke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Galdamez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thierry Baecke's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 44th match minute, Green Forest AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamín Cerritos to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Green Forest AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pablo Chavez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jhonnatan Rico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Magaña in the 68th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Edgardo Lara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woodley and the Green Forest AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Baecke in the 87th minute of play forced Woodley's goalkeeper Jonathan Galdamez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Ochoa's late challenge caught a Green Forest AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
