In the 5th minute, Giovani Arellano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Wantage FC's Dagoberto Molina didn't even have to move. Dagoberto Molina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Villatoro in the 18th minute. Juan Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Lozano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Allan Huezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wantage FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jhonnatan Cortez hit a great ball. Dagoberto Molina didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 31st minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Dagoberto Molina didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernesto Villatoro went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Huezo in the 44th minute of play forced Wantage FC's goalkeeper Dagoberto Molina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Antonio Parada sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Melendez skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Batres to make the kick off. If Arturo Lozano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wath upon Dearne getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jaime Prado hit a great ball. Edgardo Mayen, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Oscar Batres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Melendez having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Gilberto Hernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erick Giron charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erick Giron the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erick Giron kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Wath upon Dearne's Allan Huezo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dagoberto Molina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juan Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Batres in the 75th minute of play. After some careless play in the Wath upon Dearne defense, Oscar Batres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Melendez. The Wath upon Dearne fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Melendez should have stopped the shot. Dagoberto Molina came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Wath upon Dearne's Allan Huezo. But to his dismay, Allan Huezo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 84th minute Erick Giron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Melendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wantage FC's Arturo Lozano got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dagoberto Molina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Villatoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When Ernesto Villatoro came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Wath upon Dearne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Villatoro couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Wath upon Dearne had won after a very even match.
