Waldir Hinguanzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Mejia having to interfere. Fabio Rodriguez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Llorente having to make a save. If Fabio Rodriguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Llorente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Berrueta in the 26th minute of play. Waldir Hinguanzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Mejia having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ronald Noyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brus Laguna F.A.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Noyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orlando Mejia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, Edgar Berrueta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Llorente. Brus Laguna F.A.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Berrueta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

52 minutes into the game, Brus Laguna F.A.'s Ronald Noyola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Mejia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 57 minutes, Mauricio Rey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brus Laguna F.A. and the Arnold players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mauricio Rey hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Edgar Berrueta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 62 minutes on the clock, Oscar Carranza commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Arnold walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
